What Homeschool Materials Qualify for the Arkansas EFA?
The Arkansas Education Freedom Account covers a wide range of curriculum and instructional materials. Here's how homeschool books fit, and what to keep in mind.
Eligible homeschool materials
Arkansas EFA funds generally cover curriculum, textbooks, and instructional materials used in your child's education. That includes:
- Complete curriculum (math, reading, science, history)
- Grade-level textbooks and workbooks
- Readers and instructional books tied to a subject
- Educational reference and nonfiction titles
Curriculum vs. supplementary materials
Complete curriculum — a structured course of study for a subject and grade — is the most clearly eligible category and clears review with the least friction. Supplementary books are also eligible when they support a subject and grade level; Complete Book labels each item's subject and grade and includes eligibility documentation to help these clear review.
